Peggy Ann was the mother of Clifford Rowan, Sheila's one-time partner and for some considerable time the person who looked after Anna, Sheila's daughter
Undoubtedly this is Newsome Hill in Huddersfield, an area Sheila was commissioned to paint in 1967 and the result of which, "Kings Mill, Huddersfield", now resides in the collection of Kirklees Museums and Galleries. Sheila visited Huddersfield for the commission, returning to her studio in London to complete the commissioned painting which was subsequently presented in the summer of 1968.
