We’re very proud to be going live online with The Appleby Brothers exhibition, a collection of twenty eight new works by two very talented brothers, including three joint collaborations. Both Louis and Alex studied at the very well-respected Wimbledon College of Arts, with Louis going on to obtain his MA at the Royal College.
The full exhibition is listed online HERE, with a fully illustrated catalogue available to view and read HERE. All works are available to secure now, with the doors open to the physical exhibition on Saturday 13th May, running until 3rd June.
Both Louis and Alex really are at the forefront of the renaissance in British painting, and it’s wonderful for us to be exhibiting two talented artists relatively early in their very promising careers.
Away from the world of contemporary art, we’ve just acquired three works by the late Norman Cornish. Two are increasingly rare oils, a bar scene wonderfully titled "Would you go South?” from 1964, and a similar dated smaller oil of a Spennymoor back lane, complete with washing on the line and a passing cyclist. The third is a wonderful pastel of the Lollipop Man, assisting children across the street in Spennymoor. Wonderful.
All for now, as always, very happy to assist if needed.
