Percy Kelly

We can go a year or more without acquiring any works by the late Percy Kelly, arguably one of the most inventive and talented of artists to have emerged from Cumbrian in the last century. In our last email we mentioned acquiring three works, bizarrely from the US; they didn’t remain unsold for long. Now, wonderfully and unexpectedly we’ve just acquired another three, a little closer to home this time, from a collection in Kendal. All three may be seen HERE and include a fine sized Cumberland charcoal, a lovely colourful painting of Maulds Meaburn, Westmorland and a small so typical monochrome watercolour of a Cumberland farmhouse.
We’re now just shy of a week until we exhibit at the London Art Fair, housed in the wonderful Business Design Centre, Islington. This is a yearly favourite of ours and kicks off our art-year in busy style. This year we’ll be exhibition works by many artists, including Sheila Fell, Winifred Nicholson, Frank Auerbach, Leon Kossoff, Joan Eardley, Keith Vaughan and Hughie O’Donoghue. We still have a small number of complimentary tickets available for 18th – 22nd, do let us know if this is something you’d like to take advantage of.
